Please join CIRE and Santa Fe University of Art and Design for the first in a series of lectures called Art In Reality (AIR). The goal of this lecture series is to provide the community of Santa Fe, along with the students and faculty of Santa Fe University with a resource to generate conversations about professional practice in the art and design world.
For our first lecture, Mary Anne Redding will speak on how her career as a curator and writer began and evolved to become the new Chair of Photography at SFUAD.

Mary Anne Redding is the new Chair of the Photography Department at SFUAD. She has more than twenty-five years of experience working as a curator, archivist, librarian, educator, writer, and arts administrator. She holds a B.A. in English Literature from Ohio University, an M.A. in Arts Administration from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, an M.L.S. from the University of Illinois, Champaign/Urbana, and as advanced certificate in Museum Studies from Arizona State University, Tempe. Redding has written and published numerous essays on photography and contemporary art. Recent publications include the foreword to Light in the Desert: Photographs from the Monastery of Christ in the Desert and Through the Lens: Creating Santa Fe, both published by the MNM Press. Additional publications include:  Grasslands/Separating Species published by Radius Books in conjunction with the exhibition at 516 ARTS in Albuquerque, and, Passing Through, Settling In an exhibition at the Rubin Center for the Arts at the University of Texas, El Paso.
